Privacy
What we keep about you: almost nothing.
No tracking, no advertising and no cookies unless you use sign-in. Here is everything, in plain words.
If you sign in to the workspace
- You sign in with your email address and a one-time code sent to it, or with a Microsoft or Google account once the sign-in page offers one (coming later). There is no Navceed password.
- Sign-in is run for us by Clerk, our sign-in provider (a subprocessor). Clerk keeps your email address and sign-in details to do that, under Clerk's privacy policy. We keep your name, your email address and your Clerk account id, so we know it is you next time.
- Signing in sets these cookies, all needed for sign-in and none used for anything else:
- Your sample workspace holds only made-up data. What you approve there, and why, is kept in its History.
- Tables you send from the Chrome extension are stored in your own workspace, where its members can see them. Navceed itself looks at your workspace only to run and support it.
- Your data is stored on Microsoft Azure in the United States.
- When you use Ask or build, your request and the records it needs are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to plan and explain the work; Anthropic does not use API data to train its models.
- Ask any time and we will delete your account and everything in your workspaces. Navceed is run by Morrowbase LLC (California). Email contact@navceed.com to ask for deletion.
This website
The public pages set no cookies; signing in sets essential sign-in cookies. No cookies for anything else, no analytics, no advertising tags, and no scripts at all. Pages load nothing from other companies: no web fonts, no trackers, no embedded videos.
The sample report
- The sample company is made up. No real person's data is in it.
- You are never asked for files. Nothing you do on the public pages is saved.
What our server records
Like nearly every web server, ours writes one short line per request (the time, the page asked for, the network address it came from and whether it worked) to our hosting provider's log, Microsoft Azure. We keep these lines for 30 days to keep the site secure and working, and we do not use them to identify or follow anyone.
The Chrome extension (coming soon to the Chrome Web Store)
If you install the Navceed extension, it reads the list or table on the page you are looking at, inside your browser. Nothing leaves your browser until you click "Yes, send" in its side panel.
When you do, it sends the column names, the text of the cells in the rows it showed you, the page's address (with sign-in details removed, and with the query string dropped if it looks like it holds a token, secret or email address), the page's title, the name of the app or site it came from, and the time, to navceed.com, along with your extension key so we know which workspace it is for. It sends nothing else and sends to nowhere else.
It never reads password, hidden, card-number or one-time-code fields. It has no analytics, advertising or tracking, and loads no code from elsewhere.
It stores two things in your browser: the workspace address (navceed.com) and your extension key. It does not store the tables it reads. The key expires after 90 days; you can revoke it on the Connections page or with "Sign out everywhere and revoke every token and key", and "Disconnect" in the panel removes it from your browser.
Tables you send are stored in your own workspace, where its members can see them. Ask us and we delete them.
